1. Tittle: Voter Awareness Campaign

Objectives: -

Voter Awareness Programme is a sincere endeavor to extend electoral literacy to adult populations in government and non government offices, private institutions and organisations. Previously people were reluctant to vote and the voter turn out was very poor.
To create awareness for voting, Election commission of India has specially created Voter Awareness forums which implore and inspire the people of India to use their voting rights. Mata Jijabai Govt. Girls PG College has implemented the voter Awareness programme very sincerely and methodically. The objectives of this programme are as follows.
(a) To spread Voter Awareness and Voter Literacy.
(b) To prepare and equip the electors with basic knowledge related to the electoral process.
(c) To build a truly participative democracy in India by encouraging all eligible citizens to vote and make an informed decision during the elections
(d) To inspire and educate our students for their voting rights.
(e) The students thus motivated inspire and guide their families and the adjoining society to vote.
3. Content : Every Educational institute must encourage the students to exercise their invaluable votes because young learners have the power to make a significant change in shaping the country through elections. It is a well known fact that the students who are well versed with current issues and engage in debates are more likely to cast their vote. Political issues are a part of curriculum in the educational institutes and the discussion of policy debates is promoted by the faculty members. All these steps make it easier for the study to realize the importance of voting. Our college has a specific cell designated for this purpose and its nomenclature has been done as Matdata Jagrukta Samiti . Matdata Jagrukta Samiti undertook following activities:
(a) Poster competition on importance of Voting.
(b) Rally for Vote India Vote.
(c) Competition of song by our college students for Voter Awareness.
(d) Voting Oath.
(e) Organised lectures on Importance of Voting. Various innovative ideas emerged during the poster making competition which accentuated the voter awareness.
The rally for vote India vote was organised by the college in collaboration with the local administration with the local administration. The staff and the students assembled in Nehru stadium at 6 oclock and wore T shirts with voting awareness slogans. They carried banners with slogans and ran though various areas of Indore thereby educating the people. The music department of the college composed a song for Voting inspiration. The students took oath about casting their votes. Lectures on the importance of voting were also organised in which the importance of voting and the electoral process was explained in detail.
5. Evidence of success: All the students were enthusiastic about voting and they not only participated in voting but they also inspired their families and neighborhood. The voting percentage in both Assembly and Loksabha Elections in Indore was very high.
6. Problems encountered and resource required: The institute generates resources form the Janbhagidari Samiti of the college. Besides the local administration also steps in the organisation of rally and the sponsoring of prizes. A Campus Ambassador is appointed in the college. Matdata Diwas is celebrated on 25th January in which district level competitions are organised and prizes are given by the local administration.
7. Resources Required: No funding is received from the government sector. If the college receives financial grant then we can do even better.

2. Title of the Practice- Blind Helpline Cell for Higher Education for higher education of visually impaired girl students.


Objectives of the practice -

Mata Jijabai Govt. Girls Post Graduate College is the only college in M. P. in which largest numbers of visually impaired girls are studying with sighted girls. This year (201920) 78 visually impaired girls are studying with support system by institution and volunteer the number of visually impaired girls increase every year. This practice is best example of inclusive education (SamaveshiShiksha) and about 55 have been secured jobs in organization. It is a matter of great pleasure and proud for our institute. Such student require special additional attention for o Recording of educational material in audio form. o Scribes for examination that should be junior to students.

Context Blind helpline cell was formed since 2008 about 500 volunteer peer group are ready to help them for the following assistance - o Preparing educational material o Arranging writer with support of volunteer peer group. o Helping toward placement o Supporting selected student for special skill development training (EMET program with help of the blind foundation Chennai. o Various awareness programs for empowerment of visually impaired girls.

1. Title of the Practice : Health and Nutritional Awareness in Girls.
2. Objective of the Practice : Mata Jijabai Government Girls P.G. College Indore Madhya Pradesh has second highest number of Girl Students and in the Year 2019 almost 9000 girl students were admitted and quite a number of them are from ST, SC, Economically weaker and underprivileged section. According to Census 2011 49 of population are female and they have considerable contribution in GDP of our Country. Besides the well being of our 'Matra Shakti' is very important from cultural and humanitarian point of view. According to W.H.O. report 80 Indian women are Anemic. If the Girls are healthy they will grow up into healthy women. A Healthy Lady will deliver a healthy baby. So the objectives of practice are: a. To create awareness amongst Girls about health so that they can prevent themselves from various diseases. b. To improve health status of underprivileged girls. c. To create aware for HIV/AIDS.
3. Context: Various Health Checkup Camps and Awareness Lectures are organized in the Institution from Time to Time: a. Every year 01st to 07th August is celebrated as Breast Feeding Week b. Every year 01st to 07th September is celebrated as Nutritional Week. In this week various health checkup and lectures are organized like Hemoglobin Test, Cancer, Osteoporosis and Cardiac Test. The Institute gets cooperation from N.G.O.'s, Clubs (like Lions and Rotary) and many Hospitals.

5. Evidence of success : Hemoglobin tests enables the Institute to identify the girls with Iron deficiency. Iron tablet are distributed and they are educated about the right and proper diet. Thus there is an increase in the health awareness and health status
6. Problems Encountered and Resource Required: The institute generates resources from N.G.O.'s, Clubs (like Lions and Rotary) and many Hospitals (eg. Shalby Hospital). Besides many Doctors voluntarily step in and provide free services to the girls and staff. Resources Required: The Institutional premises has Three Hostels in which almost 500 girls are residing.
